I absolutely love weddings. It’s so special to witness two people be joined together, and we often want to honor these new beginnings with a handmade gift or an heirloom item for the occasion.

1. Bunny Easter Basket by Crochet to Play

First up, it’s my newest design – this Bunny Easter Basket! I absolutely loved making this basket and writing up the pattern for you to follow. The stitches used are fairly simple (it’s worked with mostly single crochets), but the ears and face make it anything but plain.

The pattern uses two strands of yarn held at the same time, which gives the stitches added thickness and increases the basket’s sturdiness. The handle is made by crocheting over pipe cleaners.

These two techniques give this basket just enough structure to keep it from getting too floppy. There are more detailed instructions on both methods in the pattern.

2. Crochet Easter Egg Basket by Whistle & Ivy

The egg design stitched into the sides of this Crochet Easter Egg Basket is fantastic, isn’t it? The pattern, by Whistle and Ivy, uses single crochet stitches in two colors to achieve this colorwork effect (and the blog post includes helpful charts to walk you through it).

Many of the stitches are worked in the back loop only, which gives the cool textured look you see pictured. I also love the way this basket has two handles instead of one! It reminds me more of a bag than a basket and would be perfect for little hands this Easter.

3. Classic Easter Basket by Yarn + Chai

The beautiful pastel colors of this Classic Easter Basket by Yarn + Chai caught my eye right away. These colors combined with the pop of white in the stripes and handle really do make it a perfect, classic Easter basket!

This pattern uses double-stranded yarn balls as well as plastic canvas (like this) to give it structure. It’s made with crossed single crochets and has some rounds worked into the 3rd loop, so if either of these are new to you, video tutorials may help.

I imagine this basket would look amazing in a variety of color combinations and would get lots of smiles on Easter morning!

4. Velvet Easter Bunny Basket by Craftsy Amore

This Velvet Easter Bunny Basket is a little smaller than the others so far, but extra adorable. It’s made with bulky velvet yarn, but I imagine it could be made with any plush or chenille yarn for a similar result.

I can just picture a row of these little bunny baskets made in a bunch of spring colors, all lined up with goodies on Easter. The little ears and tail (not pictured here but very cute, trust me) make this basket a great choice!

5. Mini Easter Basket by Hello Yellow Yarn

I don’t know why, but the quickest way to make something even cuter is to make a mini version of it. Hello Yellow Yarn has done just that with her adorable Mini Easter Basket pattern. Isn’t it perfect for holding a few little chocolate eggs?

The best part – these mini baskets work up super quickly so you can easily make as many as you’d like before Easter. I think this would be a great pattern for using up scrap yarn as well!

6. Basic Easter Basket by Delia Creates

Delia from Delia Creates has designed the ideal basket shape with her Basic Easter Basket pattern (which I think is anything but basic). Sure to be an instant favorite, this one even uses beginner-friendly stitches.

The Basic Easter Basket pattern is worked up with four strands of worsted weight yarn at once, so it uses a fairly large crochet hook. It’s also worked in the round, so make sure and use a stitch marker to keep track of your place.

This seems like a basket you could take out year after year and it would still look perfect. It could blend in with a variety of Easter décor styles as well.

7. Bunny Baskets by Curious Papaya

Aren’t these bunny baskets adorable? The Curious Papaya designed them with super bulky yarn called “tube yarn”, which reminds me a bit of t-shirt yarn. In the cream and pink colors, they look perfect for spring.

The vertical-looking rows are created using the knit stitch, a crochet stitch that ends up looking like something knit. Add the facial features and ears and you’ve got a darling bunny basket for Easter morning.

8. Flower Easter Basket by Nana’s Crafty Home

I love the clever way spring flowers are incorporated into this basket. Did you notice right away that the flowers are buttons? What a fun idea!

This Flower Easter Basket uses bulky yarn and is worked up with beginner friendly single crochet stitches (with many rounds worked into the back loop for texture).

The flower stems are added with surface crochet, with the cute floral buttons sewn on top. No experience with surface crochet? No problem! A video tutorial is available to help.

9. Crochet Bunny Basket by Yarn Th3ory

There’s so much to love about this Crochet Bunny Basket by Yarn Th3ory – the long handle, adorable brown and cream colorwork, and that fluffy tail! Oh, and the floppy ears too. I’m a sucker for floppy bunny ears.

The pattern uses the waistcoat stitch for another knit-look option and cotton cord yarn for thickness and sturdiness. You’ll also want a pom-pom maker or to learn how to make your own pom-poms for that cute tail.

Try this pattern and you’re sure to make someone’s day.

10. Crochet Easter Basket Pattern by Desert Blossom Crafts

The Crochet Easter Basket pattern by Dessert Blossom Crafts combines two colors – a main basket color and a complementary second color for a round of puff stitches (that almost looks like flowers).

It’s constructed with mostly half double crochet stitches, plus the puff stitches. And there’s a video if you need help.

The best part? This sweet pattern is available in a larger and a mini size so you can choose the size that best meets your needs!

11. Bunny Egg Basket Pattern by Yarnspirations

When it comes to crochet Easter basket patterns, Yarnspirations has it down. Their website has this lovely Bunny Egg Basket pattern available as complete crochet kit, but you can also download the pattern for free without a purchase.

I love the contrast between the brown base color and the blue and pink bunnies worked into the design through colorwork. That chocolate brown definitely reminds me of Easter candy!

With the addition of those little cotton tails, these baskets couldn’t be any cuter. Give the pattern a try!

12. Chickadee Easter Basket by The Lavender Chair

You can’t go wrong with a sweet little face on an Easter basket, right? The button eyes and little beak make The Chickadee Easter Basket by The Lavender Chair extra adorable.

This basket can be made with any yellow worsted weight yarn you have on hand. It’s worked up with mostly half double crochet stitches.

If you love little spring chicks, give this basket a try!

13. Easter Basket Pattern by Fosbas Designs

Isn’t this a pretty little basket? This Easter Basket pattern by Fosbas designs looks darling in a pastel color with the flower on the side.

This pattern uses the 3rd loop to achieve the look you see. If you’ve never crocheted in the 3rd loop, there are many video tutorials on YouTube that can help.

Other than that, if you can half double crochet, you can make this beautiful basket!

14. Spiked Stitch Crochet Basket by Jen Hayes Designs

Last but not least, don’t you just love the look of the Spiked Stitch Crochet Basket? Jen Hayes Creations designed this basket with single crochets, plus the spike stitch which gives it its cool texture.

I love the combination of dark and pastel yarn used here, but you could use absolutely any spring color combination to make this design your own.

Aren’t these little bunny faces just as cute as a button? Thoresby Cottage designed this Little Bunny Applique pattern and I think she got it just right.

Great for using up scrap yarns you have on hand, the pattern uses simple stitches and is worked in the round. With a little bit of embroidery for the face and ears, you’ll have your own cute bunnies whipped up in no time.

2. Rustic Farmhouse Carrots by MJ’s Off the Hook Designs

The first time I saw these crocheted carrots in my Pinterest feed, I instantly loved their style. Their name describes them perfectly – Rustic Farmhouse Carrots – because that’s exactly what they are.

The carrots are made with worsted weight yarn, holding three strands at a time, and have stitches worked into the back loop to create the stripe-like texture you see.

3. Crochet Bunny Bunting by Crochet to Play

Here’s a sweet pattern from right here on my blog – the Crochet Bunny Bunting. I wanted to design a garland that matched the look of my home but still had a very Easter feel, and I think this bunting does just that.

The pattern uses mainly single crochet stitches, with a bit of colorwork to make the bunny shape. Some helpful tips are included to walk you through the color changes.

Add the little fluffy tails and you’re all set! I know you’ll love this one.

4. Amigurumi Spring Bunny by Lilleliis

These little crochet bunnies are beyond cute. With their egg-shaped bodies and big rabbit ears, they are ideal for Easter! I can just picture them as part of the centerpiece at the kids’ table.

Lilleliis designed these amigurumi bunnies using DK weight cotton yarn. The pattern is worked in the round and uses mostly single crochet stitches, with the addition of a spiked stitch (details are in the pattern) and a bit of floral embroidery.

Here we have another applique pattern – this time for an entire bunny sillouette. Doesn’t it look great worked up in all these different colors together?

This Drops Design pattern works up in the round from the inside out, with no pieces to sew or attach (how great is that?). It uses worsted weight yarn, but you could use any yarn you like and just adjust your hook size as needed.

The Hoppity Hop Easter Bunny pattern could be used in lots of different ways and is sure to be a winner.

6. Classic Crochet Bunny by 1 Dog Woof

So many kids would love to see this floppy bunny in their Easter baskets! It looks so squeezable and soft.

Have you ever tried corner to corner crochet? It’s so much fun and just like it sounds – you work from one corner of the project to the other.

I absolutely adore the way the bunny design gets stitched into the blanket. You could use so many different colorways for the plaid, too. Wouldn’t it be sweet in some pastels for spring?

Awww! What could be cuter than a newborn in this little lamb hat? Nothing, that’s what!

Post Patterns Blog has done a great job designing this Crochet Lamb Hat Pattern, with it’s thick marled yarn and perfectly floppy ears. I think it would be a huge hit at a spring baby shower!

9. Crochet Bunny Snuggler by Crochet 365 Knit Too

Have you heard of a crochet snuggler yet? They’re becoming really popular and with good reason. Snugglers have a stuffed head but an unstuffed body and are usually made in thick, soft yarn.

Crochet 365 Knit Too has designed this adorable Bunny Crochet Snuggler using chenille yarn, which makes it extra soft and squishable. It’s exactly what little hands would love to hold.

10. Lamb Rattle by Crochet to Play

This little lamb set includes a rattle and matching lovey. Aren’t the lambs’ faces sweet? When I designed them, I thought they’d be just perfect for spring baby showers and baby’s first Easter basket.

As I was thinking through the best way to construct this puppet, I found so many amazing crochet puppet patterns online. I just love the creativity of crochet designers! From finger puppets to hand puppets to full arm puppets, people have made it all.

I’ve rounded up the ten best crochet puppet patterns I could find, and I’m sharing them here with you today. I know you’ll love them, too. Let me know which you decide to make first!

Remember when I said what got me thinking about crochet puppets was designing my own? Well here is how it turned out! I made this Whale Puppet and am so happy with the result. I think this Scarlet Macaw hand puppet pattern from Melissa Mall is so clever! I love the way she designed the beak and feathers and I think kids would just love playing with it and pretending to make it fly. The pattern is available here on Ravelry.

9. Unicorn Hand Puppet

Emily from TLBPatterns on Etsy makes my favorite crochet pillow patterns! She has a great way of combining homey themes with modern style. Her XOXO pillow is a perfect example! I’d love to put on my entryway bench during the month of February for some Valentine’s crochet decor.

5. Itty Bitty “Love Me” Kitty by Thoresby Cottage

Do you have any cat-lovers in your life? Why not make one of these adorable Valentine kitties to look like their furry BFF? Caitie from Thoresby Cottage has this cute pattern on her blog for free!

6. Wind Rose Heart by Emma Wilkinson Designs

The colors in the Wind Rose Heart are so striking, and you could use this heart pattern in lots of different ways – strung together in a garland, as a single ornament, or even as an applique on a blanket. Emma from Emma Wilkinson Designs has the pattern here as a free Ravelry download.

7. Heart Motifs Valentine Blanket by Peach Unicorn Designs

Peach Unicorn Designs has created this amazing blanket using whites, pinks, and reds in a repeating heart motif. I love the way she used puff stitches to form these perfect heart shapes! You could use the basic pattern to make a blanket of any size and color combination too.

8. Sweet Ivy Toque by Snuglee Bug Knits

I adore everything about this crochet heart hat – the colors, the thick knit look, and that fluffy pom pom! Snuglee Bug Knits has done a great job with this crochet pattern and best of all, it’s available in her Etsy shop in a variety of sizes!

9. Conversation Hearts by Made With a Twist

I remember getting the little boxes of candy hearts as a girl and hoping to find something slightly cryptic but clearly telling me the boy I liked also liked me (I did the same thing with magic 8 balls). These conversation hearts by Made with a Twist are even better because you can stitch on your own message! Not only that but there’s a little pocket on the back to tuck in a treat! 10. Heart Garland by Crochet to Play

This heart garland is a personal favorite of mine. After I made it, I hung it in my little girl’s window and she still likes having it there to this day. The hearts are granny square inspired and work up really quickly. It’s available as a Ravelry download that you can print or keep in your Ravelry library.

Feeling a little intimidated by the color changes in buffalo plaid? I know it looks complicated, but it’s actually pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. For most buffalo plaid patterns, you only alternate between two colors per row or round. Some rows will alternate between black and dark red stitches, and some between dark red and bright red stitches. Other than keeping your balls of yarn separate and untangled, if you can change colors, you’ve got it!

I’ve rounded up some of my very favorite plaid patterns from other designers (and added a new pattern of my own!), with pictures and links so you can pick out a new project that’s perfect for you. Enjoy!

1. Buffalo Check Crochet Hat by Daisy Farm Crafts

Daisy Farm Crafts is a crochet genius and always delivers with her buffalo plaid patterns. She came up with this darling hat as a spinoff of her traditional buffalo plaid blanket. It’s worked flat and then sewn up and topped with a pom-pom (of course), and best of all it’s free!

2. Yukon the Moose by Crochet to Play

I had to throw in my latest pattern, Yukon the Moose! Yukon is cuddly, huggable, and so fun to make. You can give him a buffalo plaid vest or scarf (or how I’ve done it – putting both on at the same time). He is so friendly and sweet and would make a great gift. 3. Buffalo Plaid Baby Blanket by Stitching Together

I’m just waiting for someone outdoorsy to have a baby so I can make this blanket! Jessica at Stitching-Together designed this adorable pattern and has it up for free on her blog. I think it’s the perfect combination of a neutral color with buffalo plaid accents, and it looks so warm and cozy. Love it!

4. Buffalo Plaid Cowl by Crochet365KnitToo

The pattern for this crochel cowl is available from Cheryl at Crochet365KnitToo on her blog for free! I love the way the cowl is a crossover wrap and how she added the bright red buttons on the side. So many women would love this as a Christmas gift!

5. Buffalo Plaid Baby Trapper Hat by Whistle & Ivy

Another (free!) Daisy Farm Crafts pattern that I love is this Christmas stocking. Imagine a bunch of these hanging over the mantle with twinkly lights and greenery on top! You could even experiment with black, white, and gray plaid, or a combination of green and black to mix it up.

7. True North Cup Cozy by Bea Lascelle

If you sell your crochet work at handmade markets or need a stocking stuffer gift, you need this pattern ASAP. Bea Lascelle has come up with such a great, quick make that people will love! Coffee tastes better when it’s cute…it’s true.

8. Buffalo Spruce Pillow by Two Little Birds Patterns
